Honey Label Application: Best Practices

How can I easily apply the honey labels? What should I keep in mind when applying them to the honey jar? Here are our tips and tricks for the perfect result.

 

Begin with sterile jars, and ideally wipe the outer surface of the jars with alcohol to remove grease, or at least ensure they are clean and dry. Wear close-fitting gloves if you can, or wash hands thoroughly to prevent transfer of oils from your skin. Invisible grease or oil films on the jar could affect the adhesion of your honey labels. 

You will receive your honey labels punched in your desired size on a roll or on a sheet. Please peel the labels gently from the backing material and touch them as little as possible on the adhesive side.

When sticking on your honey label, place one part of the label initially - with an edge or the middle of the label. Carefully smooth the label down either from one end to the other, or from the middle outwards, to avoid wrinkles or air bubbles.

Pressing the honey labels firmly onto the jar is important for good adhesion. If the paper has an easily removable adhesive, you can also peel off the label again and readjust it. 

The adhesive cures to its full strength after approximately 48 hours. During this time, the glued honey jars should not be exposed to large temperature changes as this can affect the adhesive.
