Create Custom Honey Labels the Easy Way

You and your bees have already done the hard part. Now it’s time to make sure your honey looks just as good on the outside as it is on the inside! Before your jars are ready to sell, there’s one thing you don’t want to overlook: your label. It’s often the first thing people notice, and it plays a big role in whether someone picks up your jar or walks right past it. With our custom honey labels, you’re not just adding required information. You’re creating something that reflects your brand, your story, and the care that went into every batch. A well-designed label can turn a simple jar into something customers feel good about buying.

If you’ve never designed anything before, don’t worry. Our design tool is built to make the whole process feel simple and straightforward. It walks you through each step, so you’re never left wondering what to do next. Here’s a quick look at how it works:

  1. Pick a design template you like
  2. Add your own text and design elements
  3. Adjust the important details

#1 Choose the Right Design Template

Getting started can feel tricky. You’re excited to create your label, but you might not know where to begin. That’s why we’ve created a variety of design series to give you a head start. Here’s a look at the different styles you can choose from:

All our templates are fully customizable. If you want total creative freedom, go with Free Freddie. It’s a blank template that lets you add your own text, images, and design elements exactly the way you want.

#2 Customize Text and Add Creative Elements

With our design tool, creating your perfect honey label is simple and fun. At the top, you’ll see all the elements currently in your design. To add more, just click the plus icon on the right. You can quickly add text, upload images like your logo, or choose graphics from our library.

Text: Edit any existing text or add new fields. If you add a text field you don’t need, remove it with the trash icon on the left. Some predefined fields, like the origin, can’t be deleted but you can leave them blank. You can also change the color, shape, alignment, and font to make it match your style perfectly.

Images: Add your own logo, a special graphic, or even family photos. Upload them and place them wherever you like on the label. Logos work best as PNG files with a transparent background, but JPG and PDF files are also supported.

Graphics from the library: Don’t have your own images? No problem. Our library is full of ready-to-use graphics. Use the search bar to find exactly what you need or browse categories for inspiration.

Getting started safely

The blue line on the design shows a 2 mm safety margin from the edge, and the pink line marks the cutting line, or outer edge, of your label. Keep all important text and images inside the blue line so nothing gets cut off. Anything beyond the pink line will be trimmed.

Advanced tips

For the best print quality, uploaded images should be at least 200 dpi. You can check this in the file properties. Want to get creative? Try extending elements beyond the cutting line. When enlarged, this can create interesting background shapes and effects that make your label stand out.

#3 Adjust important information

In the design tool, you can also fill in or create text fields that contain mandatory information. Most templates already include these fields to ensure you don’t forget key details like product name or origin.
